Diagnostic Biomarkers and Technology Branch (DBTB)

The Diagnostic Biomarkers and Technology Branch (DBTB) stimulates and supports research to develop new biomarkers, diagnostic strategies, modeling, innovative technologies and improved devices that will lead to better tools for research and that can assist clinical decision-making.

  • Stimulate and support research that incorporates new knowledge from cancer biology and tumor-host interactions into cancer diagnosis research.
  • Stimulate and support research focused on the development of innovative technologies and devices for use in cancer diagnostics, prognostics and prediction.
  • Stimulate and support research to integrate and apply results from biomarker research and technology development into novel platforms for cancer diagnosis.
  • Stimulate and support research focused on the development and implementation of algorithms for analysis of high dimensional data applied to cancer diagnostics, prognostics and prediction.
